A new Labour Councillor for Lancing

Lee Cowen has been elected to represent Mash Barn on Adur District Council. It’s a great result for the people of Lancing – they now have a strong local champion who will work tirelessly to speak out for local people.

It’s also a great result for decency, because throughout this campaign Labour has avoided the distortions and fake news that were the hallmark of the Tory campaign. Lee won by 106 votes in the Thursday by election.

The full result was:

  • Labour 490
  • Tory 384
  • LibDem 89
  • Green 31

Lee will fight to ensure that residents’ views on New Monks Farm are heard at every level. There will be no rubber-stamping of the development: Lee will challenge the plans at every step.

NO to the New Monks Farm plans in their current form.
PUT local residents first.
NO to using the estate as a through route for New Monks Farm.
WE DEMAND a realistic and safe plan for A27 improvements before any other plans are considered.
NEW HOMES for local people. Developers must not get away with watering down plans for affordable housing.

Lee says: “We’ve got a big fight on our hands now. Lancing needs a strong and independent voice — and that’s what I’m here for. It’s a real honour to be representing Mash Barn on the district council and on this you have my word:

If you want the best for your community then I am on your side.”

Look out for regular surgeries and information about Mash Barn meetings with your local representative, Cllr Lee Cowen.

You can contact Lee direct on his campaign Facebook page. Or you can email Lee.
