Fighting for Cokeham
I am standing for Cokeham to be bring back politics to the local community, not in the council chamber but on the doorstep. To listen, advise and act to improve the lives of all.
I have been a Railwayman for 29 years since leaving School at 16 and continuing my career from my Youth Training scheme start , i have seen the National rail network disintegrate to a private operation with some high to lots of lows . I have served the community as a parish councillor for 14 years In Sompting through changing political landscapes working with people of different political beliefs for the benefit of Sompting. With the mass of new development being imposed on the existing community and the stagnation of development of the A27 the tailbacks, pollution and gridlock through Sompting .
This is a very difficult time for everyone. The austerity agenda is having a really negative impact on all and the most vulnerable are suffering the greatest. Housing, environment, health and education are all issues which local people are concerned about.
Things need to and can change. Labour councillors offer fresh ideas on housing, open spaces and community needs. Our transparent and energetic policies are aimed at reducing child poverty, avoiding homelessness, eliminating avoidable deaths of the elderly (Adur is a national high spot), improving air quality and planning infrastructure for the next generation.
The Labour Party manifesto commits to fair and decent sustainable housing for all, investing in NHS and Education, protecting the environment. I believe that with my skills and experience and working with you all we can show there is an alternative.
Let’s make this happen together and bring a better future in Cokeham. For the Many, Not The Few.
