Candidate for Mash Barn ward, Adur District Council
As well as her English degree, Sharon completed NVQs in Early Years Care and Education and Learning Support and has experience in Youth Work, Community Outreach and teaching. She is committed to lifelong learning and working for equal access to genuinely inclusive education.
Sharon wishes to amplify the voices of her community and support everyone to be heard. Personal and professional experience has taught her that the decisions made about our lives are often inaccessible. She is committed to transparent and accessible practice to give more people access to real change.
As a local resident with young children, Sharon is invested in the local challenges facing our environment and community, in particular those presented by the development of New Monks Farm and the provision and maintenance of social housing.
More recently, she has become concerned with the threat to the local Children and Family Centres that so many people rely upon. Indeed the family centre is an attraction to our High Street and Sharon is keen to work hard to see progress toward its vibrant and dynamic potential.
