Councillor Catherine Arnold
Councillor for St Mary's Ward, Adur council, and candidate for Shoreham South (County Council)

Cat is an Adur district councillor for St Mary’s ward, Shoreham. Cat is standing for Shoreham South in the West Sussex County Council elections to fight on crucial issues that ensure long-term quality of life.
She is a leader of the campaign to save from closure West Sussex Children and Family Centres
She believes education is vital, providing the opportunities for all. She wants to see: money promised for schools delivered to those schools, properly planned school places and that children with special educational needs are offered care and support.
She said: “Elderly care and choice are imperative too; our adult social care needs to be fit for a post-Covid world, whilst also seeing an increase in better quality residential places.
“I have seen waste in West Sussex County Council’s roads budget due to incorrect tendering and an extraordinary £214,000 paid out to road-users for damage to vehicles. Often the damage has been caused by pot-holes. So much would be saved if they were repaired in good time.
“I would lobby to end the inefficiencies so that funds are spent on roads and permanent cycle lane networks.”
She lives in Shoreham with her husband and two children and is a trustee of The Ropetackle Centre and founder of Adur Community Café.
Cat would love to hear about issues that affect you. She said: “At the moment we can’t knock on doors, so please get in contact with me via email or via Facebook page. “
