Candidate for Marine ward, Adur District Council
Breathing new life into our post pandemic local community is quite a challenge, but that’s what Labour & Co-operative Party candidate Nigel Sweet is eager to do.
“It’s 21 years since I last held the position of Adur District Councillor,” Nigel points out, “and since then local people have had a pretty raw deal.”
“Soaring Council Tax bills, more cuts to vital local services – local people’s views treated with contempt by Adur Conservatives. Whether it’s fortnightly rubbish collection or axing Family Centres, Conservative councillors just don’t seem to care what local people actually want.”
Retired NHS ambulance clinician Nigel Sweet was deputy Leader of Adur Council and Chair of Adur Housing as the millennium turned.“Since then, 21 years travelling the world and working in our wonderful NHS has taught me lots. I want to be part of the local Adur Labour team delivering for local people.”
