Councillor Debs Stainforth
Councillor for Southlands Ward and candidate for Shoreham North (County Council)

Debs Stainforth was elected as councillor for Southlands ward of Adur District Council in October 2018 and has since worked tirelessly on behalf of local residents.
Currently qualifying as a community psychologist, she also has many years experience working in housing, homelessness and family work. Debs has always believed that the people who live in an area know what’s best for their community and listens and works with people to make a difference. She makes sure the voices of residents are heard loud and clear in Council meetings.
Debs is passionate about social justice, community and income inequalities, and has set up a number of successful projects with our communities including The Gateway Hub to help hundreds of local people whose lives have been affected by covid https://www.facebook.com/AdurCommunityGatewayHub, and Adur Repair Café https://www.facebook.com/adurrepaircafe
She has energetically helped a lot of individual residents with casework too, but not all problems can be solved at ward level. Residents are also affected by decisions made by the County Council and Debs thinks it is time Labour made an impression there, so that your voice can be heard at County Hall too. That is why she is standing for a seat at County – Shoreham North.
Before Covid, surgeries were held on the first Monday of each month 11-12 at Milward Court Day Centre, Wilmot Rd, Shoreham by Sea, BN43 6BU. For the moment, if you or someone you know needs help, you can get in touch with Debs on 07772 006079 (Monday to Friday, 9-5).
