Rebecca, who was our candidate in the Hillside by-election in December, said: “I am very happy to have the chance to stand as a councillor for Hillside once again and would love to be elected.

“I have lived in Adur for 16 years, though I’m a south Londoner by birth.

“I enjoy being involved in the community in Adur – I was vice-chair of governors at St Nicolas and Mary Primary School for several years. My late Dad, Les Alden, was a veteran local politician who led the Labour group on Adur Council for several years. Like him, I am passionate about housing issues, children’s service and the care system.”

A keen walker and runner, Rebecca is often to be found enjoying the green spaces of the South Downs. She says: “I think it’s equally important to protect the urban environment of Adur, ensuring that the council guards against the worst effects of overdevelopment and ever-increasing traffic while continuing to combat climate change”.
