Nigel is a recently retired senior manager in the National Crime Agency.  His 44 year law enforcement career, as an investigator and intelligence manager, took him all over the world, from Afghanistan to South America, leading investigations into crimes such as drug trafficking, money laundering and organised immigration crime.

Nigel says “I feel privileged and honoured to have had the opportunity to have had such a rewarding career. Crime, in all its forms, harms the UK, its people, infrastructure and economy. I am proud to have played my part in bringing some of those responsible to justice”.

Nigel lives in Adur with his wife Claire, who works in the NHS.

Their children are now grown up and no longer live at home so whenever possible the TV is now tuned to football. Whilst age has caught up with him on the football pitch he still turns out at the tennis club at Southwick.

Nigel said that he was thrilled to be selected as the Labour candidate for Hillside and is passionate that residents have their views heard and that they are properly represented.

“During my campaigning I have been blown away by the welcome I have received on the Hillside doorsteps. Despite intruding on their busy lives people want to talk about local issues such as overwhelmed GP surgeries, sewage and school places and national issues such as the cost of living crisis and soaring energy prices. I am struck by a hunger for change and I am 100% confident that Labour, locally and nationally is ready to deliver this”.
